Ring Car Cam

I pre-ordered this Ring Car Cam back in January. It arrived in late February.

Car Cam

I really like it. It records inside and outside with sound. It’s kind of creepy to be able to listen to people talk.

I did go to see Dan Rose at Mr. Spoiler last week. He seemed pretty excited to get to be working on something totally new. I told him I was more interested in functional than pretty. He ensured I knew it would look like it came out of the factory that way. I will probably drop Miss Pearl off sometime this week or the weekend. I will see how his schedule goes.

Meanwhile, the guys at work jacked up Miss Pearl yesterday to remove the seat rails. I was going to build over them, but I would lose 2 inches of headroom which I’m unwilling to give up. The two outer rails came out pretty quickly. The two center rails, not so much. After everything was disconnected, we could not remove those two rails because the airbag wires were connected to the ones under the center console.

Yellow airbag plugs under the center console.

Those two yellow plugs connect to these four yellow plugs on the two center rails.

Well, back to the drawing board. I’m sure we will figure something out. I have already contacted Brad Ling, the man that created the simulators, to see if he has any ideas. Mmmmhh, I forgot to tell him that I’m a 66-year-old female with no mechanical/electrical knowledge. LOL, he’ll have to pretend he’s dealing with a five-year-old.

I did make a slight mod. I made the back of Miss Pearl look like she’s from 2019.

I removed the blue hybrid from the Toyota emblem.

That’s it for now. Have a great day, everyone.
