No Love at the DMV Yesterday 01/03/25

I went to my appointment yesterday morning, bringing every document I owned. I was hoping that since I was not really getting a “new” license but just changing states, I would be able to slide right through, but no!

I just spent a couple of hours on the USCI website putting in information to get a new certificate of citizenship mailed to me. I had made copies back in 2004 but seemed to have mailed out the original some time later.

Nothing is ever plug-and-play, so now I’m stuck until I get digital photos taken of myself. I’ll go to CVS on Monday to get that taken care of. I could take the photo on my phone, but I don’t trust myself to edit it to their specifications.

I’m done with it today because the website won’t let me go past the photo section. It would be nice to know ahead of time what else I will need to finish this process. The only thing it DID tell me is that it will now cost me $505 to get it done.

When I got back to Escapees, I went straight to their office to reserve my spot for another 30 days starting on January 18th. I knew it would take a while to get the new certificate, and I didn’t want to risk moving out of here before I got it. I was happy that I didn’t need to move out of my spot because I really like it here.

You’ll never guess what I cooked for lunch today! I air-fried sardines in bacon, some leftover pork ribs from yesterday, and 1/4 stick of butter. I can’t believe how good the sardines tasted—nice and crunchy, so much better than out of the can. I’ll have to do this again soon. I don’t think I will eat them straight out of the can EVER again.

That’s all the news for today. It’s time to get my walk in. NBDs.
