Happy New Year 01/01/25

It was a very quiet night around here, well at least I THINK it was quiet because once I go to sleep, that’s it.

I met a gentleman the other day while walking to the bathroom. He asked me where my coat was. LOL, I told him that this is my kind of weather, so there is no need for a coat. That’s how that started, and we have been chatting and taking walks around the park every day on our way to check the mail. Dan is an author and is finishing a book while he is parked here until February. His pen name is Dee Lehrer, and he has several books on Amazon.

This is our post office. The mail is ready after 3PM during the week.

Quite a few events happen weekly in this park. Most of them are food-oriented, so I’m not really interested. My day does not revolve around food anymore. I eat because I am hungry and I need nourishment. The smell of the bread and cereal isles in stores and fast food makes my stomach turn.

There are ice cream socials, the bakery down the street has birthday get-togethers, etc. Mostly, it makes me sad that so many people are overweight and sickly-looking and not able to get around on foot. I am grateful that I am in the shape that I am in!!

Tomorrow morning is my DMV appointment to get my Texas license. I hope that I have all the paperwork they need. We will see.

I’m still getting texts for Toyota dealer trades every day. I wonder how long it will take for word that I’m retired to get around.

I went to town the other day to get ice, top off my gas tank, and get quarters for the laundry. Guess what I forgot. Quarters. I’ll walk down to the office to get some in a few.

Well, that’s all that’s happening in my dull, awesome, relaxing life for now. Happy New Year 🙂
