It was low humidity and 52 degrees. I had a great night’s sleep! For a while, I didn’t think I was going to make it until my last day here. I was hot and miserable. April 18th will be my last day here. Then it’s off to Princeton for a few days, and then toward Montana.
This is the campground that I want to check out when I get there https://springcreekcampground.com/. I wonder what it will cost to stay there for a month, or if they even let me due to being in a minivan. I’ll figure it out when I get there.
Many of my long-time neighbors are leaving for cooler weather, and a few are staying through the summer. I couldn’t do that. There is too much heat for me. I’d have to stay in my van with the A/C all day and all night.
The other day, my neighbor took his truck and trailer out for a test drive. He will be leaving a week before I do. It took him a good hour to load up and disconnect everything. I am so glad that I am in my van. This is my picnic table and the stuff I leave behind when I go to the store. It takes me less than five minutes to disconnect from my site and less than five minutes to set back up!!

I love staying under the shade trees, but I’ll be glad when these things go away. I bought a 10-foot hose and nozzle to spray them off my van each time I leave.

Time for a meat run!!
Saturday night was interesting.
On Saturday, I put a carabiner in the latch of the rear hatch door so that I could keep the hatch partially open for more of a breeze. This would prevent the battery from running down because the van thought the hatch door was open. However, I couldn’t get the carabiner to release and close the hatch for the night. I tried all the buttons to get it to release, but no!!
I spent about an hour online to see if anyone else had had this issue. While researching, my laptop started acting up. I then had to completely reinstall Windows, which took all night. She’s all better now.
Meanwhile, I slept with the hatch open all night. Of course, I thought the worst, wondering if I should drive it to the Toyota dealership to fix it. I just knew I had broken something. The next morning, I asked my neighbor if he had something to cut the carabiner off with. Well, he found a button that I did not push. It’s the one located above the license plate. Ha, it popped right out. Phew!!
Well, that’s all the excitement happening down here. I hope that everyone has a good week. NBDs.
