Last Wednesday, it was time for Ms Pearl to get a bath. We have a lot of dust from the roads and debris falling from the trees. It was pretty awesome to have this car wash just a couple of miles away from where I’m parked. It took a lot of rubbing and $20 to get all the bugs off the van.

It was time to change my water filter. Thanks to my neighbor, I remembered to keep the plastic end caps to prevent water from leaking out when I move to another site. I’ve been keeping the filter in a leak-proof bag all this time. It never dawned on me to keep those caps to plug it up. I learn something new every day, it seems.

There are signs along the roads about deer, elk, and wildlife crossings. Some of the signs even have blinking lights. As you can imagine, paranoia started to set in, and I kept on worrying about hitting the animals. I have had two accidents previously caused by deer. So I began to ask different people about the deer whistles. Some swore by them, others thought it was bullshit.
I ended up buying four of the deer whistles just to up my odds. I had quite a laugh when I read the notice. Talk about a manufacturer covering their butts in case it doesn’t work. Hopefully, I won’t run into any deer that are deaf.
It’s peculiar, but I found it surprisingly relaxing to drive the other day. It’s probably just a mind thing. 🙂

“Even if a deer whistle is installed, it does not ensure that you will not encounter a deaf deer.”

This was two nights ago, before we had a thunderstorm.

Last night, before another storm.

Running with the big dogs at 11,011 miles. Not bad for my 2023 Sienna.

Since it rains almost every afternoon, I’ve been using my Roadie daily. It’s nice to be able to open the window without bugs or rain getting in.

I found out that my Starlink Mini does not like to be on the dash when the sun is beaming down for hours. When it gets too hot, it shuts off. I now keep it behind the van, far enough away so that I won’t step on it when I open the hatch.
The temperatures have been heavenly up here. It reached 69 degrees yesterday. Nights are actually too cool to run my fan. Last night I had to turn on Ms Pearl to charge the EcoFlow generator. It was down to 38 percent. It probably would have been fine with just the fridge running, but I didn’t want to take the chance since it is full of eggs, cheese, butter, and meat. Usually, I run the van when I’m cooking to recharge, but since it was so cool, I haven’t needed to do that.
It’s time for lunch. Looks like an air-fried pork chop encrusted in Parmesan Cheese with a can of cod livers.
Lunch is done. Dishes are washed. Now I’m going to the office to rent a spot until the end of September.
