Google Maintenance Monday 8/04/25

Google let me know that I was running out of storage this morning. It took me a couple of hours to delete stuff from the last 15-plus years. Talk about going down memory lane. It felt like I was reading my own diary. Everything is now nice and clean and organized, and no longer taking up a massive chunk of my free space.

One of the cool things about Silver Thread Base Camp is the three covered wagons that are for rent. Yesterday, Liz, the camp’s manager, gave me a chance to take some photos of them.

Front view of the covered wagon.

This is one of three that are available, and they seem to be rented out most of the time.

On both sides of the wagon is a storage area for a grill, etc, that can be used while the tenants stay here.

On the rear is the plumbing and hot water heater for the small bathroom.

Everything needed is in this small space.

This wagon has a bunk bed and a small sitting area.

This wagon has two bunk beds.

This unit features a large bed, microwave, fridge, coffee maker, heater/AC, and a door that leads to the small bathroom.

There is a sink and a toilet to the right.

Each wagon also has a shower.

I was surprised by the good smell of these wagons when I entered. It’s like they were built just yesterday. Clean and woodsy.

The office, a small store, a sitting area, and a laundry mat. I ran out of butter today and bought a stick from inside the store.

My new parking spot is in the rear of the park. It’s closer to the water and to the shower. I have more shade, but it is still clear enough for the Starlink to work.

One of the tenants had two “water dogs”.

Every afternoon, he would throw that ball, and his pups would race into the water to retrieve it.

I’m out of meat and will probably need to hit a grocery store tomorrow.

I should know better than to buy coffee just because it’s cheaper, even if it’s labeled as dark roast. Liars!!! I’ll be picking up some Italian Roast when I go out.

It’s after lunch and I think I’ll have a cup of piss weak coffee.

Looks like it’s going to be heating up again. It’s still comfortable enough to sit in my home with the fan going. I sure wasn’t able to do that in Texas.

NBD’s everyone!!

  1. I envy your cooler temps, Florida be hot. At least we get rain fairly often. The camping wagons are nice. I’ve never heard of a deer whistle, hope it works for you. Take care, Sheila Y

    1. Hi Sheila. I hope that you are doing well!! I love the weather here! That’s why I wanted to be mobile. I want to move with the weather. Hopefully it will be safe for me to go back to Texas in October. 🙂
