On Tuesday, the 7th, I drove to Rice, TX. This is where the Casitas are manufactured.

This is what I want to buy once I get tired of traveling. This year, they came out with a 24-footer, which I am looking at.

It is made of two pieces of Fiberglass and is truly a 4-season camper. It’s well insulated, and the woodwork inside is excellent. Their resale value is incredible.

I love the full-size fridge and separate freezer.

The little seating area is perfect. It was nice to actually see one in person.
They’re a bit pricey right now at $45K, but I will look at some slightly used ones as they come up.

On April 8th, I helped T-Jay wash up Miss Sabrina in Princeton, TX. Then it was off to drive to Virginia.

I arrived at Greg’s home on Sunday, the 12th. I took my time driving, and it was going to take longer because I had programmed Waze to avoid all highways. I really intended to stay off the interstates. I removed that setting after Waze took me around in circles twice while leaving Texas, so interstate it was.
I spent $125 on campgrounds every night. Not too bad, but I think I will overnight at Cracker Barrel on the way back.
I spent about $90 on gas. Not bad. I started out from Texas, getting 397 miles per tank. By the time I hit Virginia, I was getting 459 miles per tank.

Monday, I finally got all that road-trip nastiness off of Ms. Pearl. She was nasty!! I used to keep all kinds of car cleaning supplies, but due to space, I really didn’t have any soap besides Dawn, so that’s what I used. I really thought I was going to have to scrub hard to get the bugs off, but I was amazed at how good a job Dawn did. The bugs just easily wiped off. Who knew!!
On Wednesday, I went to Miller Toyota to get an oil change. It was awesome to see my old crew. It looks like everybody who was there when I left is still there. Lots of hugs all around.
Yesterday I went to see my Mom and stepdad. It was bittersweet, and we had a nice visit. I hadn’t seen them in a year and a half.

This was my meal yesterday. Smoked sardines with horseradish sauce. I think I will eat sardines for the next couple of days to rid my belly of fat, which has been a bit stubborn.
I thought I was escaping the heat in Texas, but I was met by 90 degrees in Virginia. WTH? It’s supposed to cool down in the next week.
