It’s been raining all night and it’s very windy. Sure as shit, my idiot neighbors have all their trash cans and loose bags of trash put out.
We’ll see how that goes. See the trash bags? I’m already seeing trash in the street. It’s going to be a real mess before it’s all over with.
Last night I went out and removed the bird bath from its base. It’s made out of concrete and I don’t want it to go flying when the wind gets really bad. I also laid down all my gnomes.
I was just informed that Miller Toyota Scion will shut down at 5:30 this afternoon. Even though this will cut my paycheck, I am very happy to not be working for a non-caring, greedy company. I’m thinking of going in at noon to relieve my co-worker who has a child that is home from school today. I’m also worried about the electric going off and not being able to get my work done.
All public transportation, schools, and government buildings are closed today…..except the courthouse. Yes the courthouse is open for business, wtf?
I’m glad I topped off my gas tank yesterday. They are already reporting gas stations being down due to lack of electricity.
There is a storm drain when I go around the corner of my street out of here. It usually floods with heavy rains. Hopefully, I’ll be able to get out of here without getting water in my little car.
When I got home last night, I decided to cook. One of my co-workers told me about this recipe that she tried out. It sounded so yummy. The recipe involved, pork chops, cumin, coriander, salt, pepper, onions, honey, Dijon mustard, apples, and apple cider.
LOL, since I refuse to go to the grocery store for the next couple of days, I had to make do with what I have. That meant some major modifications like no onions, no cumin, no apples nor cider, no pork chops. I did, however, have chicken breasts and Cajun sausage.
I made a coating of Dijon mustard, honey, pepper, sea salt, and coriander and soaked the chicken breasts and sausage in it. Then I quickly browned all the meat. After that, it went in a covered pan in the 400-degree oven for 15 minutes. After it was done, I put it back on the stove and added some chicken broth, garlic, and some home-made apple sauce. I let that cook a few minutes longer. Under all of that goodness went some fluffy rice. Talk about good!!! Even T-Jay liked it and he hates everything.
I’m going to get ready for work. Hope everyone stays safe and dry!!
