Zucchini Soup

I stopped by the little veggie stand to get another Zucchini yesterday. I see they bolted down the cash box this time. I wonder when they will have some tomatoes.

I’m making another batch of Zucchini soup. Zucchini, a little bit of water, a spoon full of beef or chicken bouillon. Put that in a pot and bring to a boil. Let it cool, add a spoon full of curry and then put it all in a blender. Can be eaten hot or cold.

I owe an apology to all the knee high crew sock makers. For years I’ve been buying them and for years I’ve been cursing them out for mislabeling them as “knee highs”. I was always wondering how in the hell they could ALL label them as knee highs when they would only go half way up my calf. WFT?? How could they all make this mistake??

Well, since I’ve lost all this weight, it seems that they now all go up to my knees. 🙂

Sorry! 😦

——————–

I’ve noticed that many people that I know remember things by sight. Something they see makes them go back to memory lane.

I remember things by smells.

Last night on the way home I caught the scent of a man’s cologne. LOL…don’t ask me how that’s possible driving 60 miles an hour, but I did. Immediately my mind went back in times gone by. I don’t even remember downshifting the car at the one bad curve half way home.

One of the managers at work uses this hand sanitizer that smells like cheap, rut gut, Gorden’s Vodka. It makes me remember my parents bedroom in the morning after a night of heavy drinking and me trying to get to sleep over all the partying noises that night before.

I have a feeling that I would forget a whole lot of things if I ever lose my sense of smell.

  1. Just how much weight did you lose?Thats a lot more milage from those socks you're getting.I hope the smell of he socks never triggers bad memories ; ->

  2. Joe….I feel bad about the hard times I gave people when I returned them for a refund…until I finally gave up and thought they were just a bunch of total idiots. When I smell a certain scent, it's almost like watching a movie in my head. It takes me right back to where I experienced that smell. It's so intense that I completely forget about my surroundings and what I'm doing.

(oh and there is every likelihood that they like their privacy and that you will be invading it – but come on girl – yer not as vivacious as you are for nothing! now i mean it – next post better be about meeting these people or else!!!)Yes, I was kind of worried about invading their privacy, but then since there is not much traffic on that road, I wouldn't expect for them to stand out there all day. I'm sure they have other things to do. and friend…i wish you didn't have such memories. but i understand. and i wish you remembered things by sight…remembering by smell is much more ancient and instinctive. i can't open a box that i have of my father's belongings because the few times i have tried – the smell of opening the box sent me back in time to places i do not want to revisit. once was enough.mmhhh… I don't get too many bad memories from smells. I consider myself very lucky!!! That would be really awful!! you still have a gorgeous CAT (heavy emphasis on the word CAT!)LOL….You mean you have this double meaning for the word pussy in Canada too? That's too funny!! Where I come from it's Muschel (mussel) or Plaume (plum) i really like your blog btw!The feeling is mutual, Kymber. 🙂

That was until they expanded and now they are a lovely flower shop with the cash register, credit card terminals, the whole catastrophe. I'm all for a nice success story but it makes you sad sometimes for the simple times.Very true :(I do wish that the owners would come outside while I was there. I'd love to have a chance to talk to them. Oh well, maybe if I come by there often enough I will catch one of them outside. My memory is generally triggered by both smells and songs. It's funny how that happens isn't it?Many times I'll remember things that I haven't thought about in many years.
