I was washing out a few glass jars the other day when I ended up with one metal lid missing. I finally gave up and put the jars away…never thinking to check the garbage disposal. Well, the rat bastard froze up on me. Oh, and I found the lid….all mangled up.
Been trying to fix it for days now. I panicked and went to the store to buy a strainer so nothing could clog up that part of the drain.
Bought one of these tiny little dish drainers to put in the other side. I remember years ago the disposal froze up. It took over a week to get it running again. Meanwhile, it had gotten so stopped up that we had to bail water out of the kitchen daily. I sure didn’t want to have to deal with that again. I remember that I ended up washing dishes in the bathroom sink.
Got together my tools.
I put the wrench in the opening on the bottom of the disposal and turn it left and right to try and loosen it.
Then from the top I used this plunger handle to get it to turn from the sink.
I was such a happy camper when I got it to run. So happy of the money I saved by not having to call someone to fix it. Everything was working fine until last night when I heard the familiar humming instead of the grinding noise when I turned it on. Crap…back to the drawing board. I’ll play with it tomorrow.
I started on T-Jay’s and my taxes today. I can’t believe I’m actually doing what I promised myself. Not to wait until the last minute. It’s nice not to be in a rush for a change.
When I went to visit my mom last week, she shared a bag of Rainbow Trout with me, that her neighbor had caught. I’ve been eating off of them for the last two days. It had been a long time since I had fish. I smothered them with onions and seasonings in a bunch of butter with some sweet potato and yogurt on the side. Absolutely awesome!!
All done!
Yes, I used my fingers to get up some of the juice. 🙂
Sue….not sure if I did yet. Sucker is frozen again. 😦 Rat Bastard!
I'm glad you saved the plumber fees 🙂
