It got down to 44 degrees last night. Not as bad as predicted, which was 39, but I went ahead and repositioned furniture to make my light bill as low as possible once I have to start using the plug-in heaters.
My central heat is still not working and I really don’t want to spend $700 plus in parts and that doesn’t even include the labor. So once more, I’ll be using plug in heaters to keep it warm.
I figure the less area that needs to be heated, the better!!
First thing to do was to get everything I use daily out of the living room downstairs, upstairs to my bedroom. Since I love small spaces, this is not a problem for me. It’s rather cozy.
Then I moved the kitchen table back into the dining area. I have curtains separating the kitchen from the living room on one end and a door on the other end. Remember, I used to live in the living room. Now I can block off half of the downstairs area and don’t have to worry about heating a room that no one uses.
I still had bubble wrap from when I had the travel trailer so I used that to stuff in the opening at one of the windows. It’s open to allow for the cord that goes to the motion sensor flood light I have out front. I’m glad I kept it. I’m sure the rest of it will come in handy as it gets colder.
Here is Silly’s new camp beside my bed.
This morning I was very pleased to find the temperature still at 71 on the inside. I’m happy that getting new windows and door installed, plus the new siding is helping to keep the heat in.
Last winter was so mild, I’m sure we won’t be that lucky this time around…..or will we?
